Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier help!?
I just purchased a used Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier head a few months ago from guitar center. The amp passed the Mesa Boogie check and everything and worked fine the first few times I used it. I've probably only played it a total of 5 or 6 times. Today I went to practice and the gain appears to have been cut a lot. There is still gain in it but a lot of it is gone and it's a really muddy and dirty crunch sound. None of the tubes are burnt out but aren't very well lit. Also when I switch channels on my petal I get a loud popping sounds. Can someone please help me?! I'd owe you so much.
First, check the cord. Cords can go bad and cause all sorts of issues. Also, re-check everything from start to finish. If you have an owners manual for it (or can find it on line) go through all set up steps as if you have never used it before.
Often things like this are operator error, not that any of us (me included) would ever be wrong, right? I hope it's ok.
Mesa is the best, without a doubt.
