What is the best Digital Audio Workstation Software (DAW) you can recommend to me?
Im planning to buy a CD installer of a DAW software for my vista. But I dont know what to chose from these DAWs:
1. Pro Tools
2. Cubase
3. Sonar
4. Logic
5. Reason
Im looking for something that i can use to make beat and music for my original written song. Thank You. c",)
First of all, Reason is not a DAW. It tries to emulate one, but it does not accept any vst plugins, so essentially its a virtual instrument by itself. That's not to say that it isn't right for you.
I personally have used cubase for quite a while, i like it a lot but unfortunately it is fairly complicated. If you're just starting out, I recommend you download reason, just because it is probably the best suited for beginners. Essentially, when it comes down to it, all the major DAWs do basically the same thing, it just depends on your workflow preferences, which will come through experience. You can't really go wrong with any of these, but I recommend reason if you just want to easily make a solid song.
