gmc sonoma dimmer switch broke?
I just purchased a '93 gmc sonoma p/u. The cover is missing for the multi-function switch. The truck has cruise control, intermittent wipers, the windshield washer, dimmer switch, and turn signals are all in this switch? The headlights are stuck in the high beam position and the cruise control doesn't work at all. There is a small plastic piece laying on the floor that looks like might have come out of the switch somewhere. Oh and the lever falls out of the unit quite easily. Is there anywhere on line that would show me a pictorial parts breakdown of the steering column and the swithes and relays that involved? Does just putting a cover back on that switch on the side of the steering column hold that switch in place to allow at least the lights to be dimmed?Is there a relay for the cruise control that may be fried? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Don't tell me to take it to someone however. I can fix it myself!
that car needs a new combination switch/if i were you i would not attempt it because you were a little hesitant on the diagnosis even with the switch breaking up right in front of you/steering wheel has to come off and the steering column has to be lowered/it aint easy and the switch aint cheap
