Asphalt Drum Mix Plant
Infrastructure is defined as the basic physical and organizational structures needed for the operation of a nation. It includes the technical structures that support a society, such as roads, water supply, sewers, power grids, telecommunications, etc. When we view it functionally, infrastructure facilitates the production of goods and services. The term also includes basic social services such as schools and hospitals.
Asphalt is considered to be the best road building material. It binds well and is also durable.
An asphalt plant is a plant used for the manufacture of asphalt, macadam and other forms of coated road stone, sometimes collectively known as blacktop. Asphalt plants are of two types: drum mix plant and batch mix plants.
Asphalt Plants are primarily divided into two types: Continuous Mixing Type (Drum Mix Plants) and Batch type asphalt plants.
Drum mix plant is a continuous mixing plant. The asphalt continuous mixing plant system consists of a total proportional controlled cold feed system, which delivers material on a slinger (charging) conveyor. From the other end, the asphalt and filler proportion enters the drum simultaneously with aggregate.
The main component of asphalt drum mix plant is a parallel flow drum mixer which is a large rotating cylinder. The main gearbox drives the drum by a half chain to a large sprocket bolted to the outside of the drum.
As the aggregate gets inside the drum from the slinger conveyor, on the other end bitumen and lime is introduced. The bitumen cools very fast and as a result jells up with the fine aggregates and dust.
In the asphalt mixing continuous plant, raw aggregate is fed into the cold aggregate feeders and specific quantity is delivered to the drum where initially drying and then mixing with bitumen takes place. The temperature inside the drier drum is around 150-180 degree Celsius. The finished product is almost invariably discharged into a hot store rather than directly into delivery vehicles.
Hot storage SILOS can also be used with the plant to store the mix material when needed. Pollution control devices like the venture type dust collector device and even bag house can be fitted with the plant.

What food can we give a GSD?
I came on here the other day seeking answers re IAMS dog food. Thank you to everyone that answered!!
We think we have now made our mind up about IAMS and will stop feeding it to her. The only thing is now, we are completely confused about what to feed her.
A few people have mentioned James Wellbeloved but on researching it we have found that they use animals to test it on and we are not too happy about that.
We think we are going to go down the fresh food road as we can't find out enough about other dry foods and at least we will know what is going in to her. The only problem is, what do we give her and how much? We thought things like rice, pasta, veg and meat. Can we give her potatoes? Can we still give her biscuits/mixers or are they bad as well??
As mentioned the other day, she is 19 weeks old and still on 3 meals a day.

Potatoes are a superior food source to rice .
I do feed a premium quality dry food for 2/3 of their diet. The other 1/3 is comprised of raw chicken (wings, backs) & beef, eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt,mackerel/salmon/tuna. In addition I always cook a little extra of what my family is having, for the dogs. This would include any meats/poultry/fish, carrots, green beans, greens,peas, potatoes, yams, rice, barley, etc. Pasta isn't a very good nutritional source so I rarely give it to them. I never give shellfish of any kind. I also avoid the cabbage family (brocoli, brussel sprouts, etc), and corn.
To a lesser extent my dogs get some fresh fruits like apple/pear slices, and they like tomatoes from the garden.
If you want to go to a totally home prepared diet, research some good books on the 'barf' diet for proper proportions and prep.
