Natural Instruments creates sound by vibrating a piece of solid material. These materials are normally vibrated by hitting, shaking, rubbing, or any other way of causing vibration. Electronic instruments create sound through electrical signals, turned into vibrations by a speaker. The recent electronic instruments are digital; older ones are analog. Long ago the music sounds were created by using only musical instruments. After a long time the music is recorded in recorder while playing the instrument. But now there are lot of resources to create sound effects without any instruments. These sound effects can be editable based on the requirements. This is done by using Music software like Music Editor, Music Composer, Music Mixer, Music Recorder, etc which is used to create, edit, record, mix the various Music sounds. These software also create echo effects, Doppler effects etc. The user can import their own voices, and other sounds from the external resource. People can create their own music based on their thinking without any experience. The music hobbyist become a music professional without any instruments and teacher. I think you're asking about two different things. Audio mixers used in sound recording/music production do not have pads that you touch to make music. They have audio faders and a range of mixing, aux buss and EQ capabilities. They generally have few or no sound effects and they do not have any sort of means of making music built in. Some of the best inexpensive mixers for music production are made by Mackie -- see the first link below.
If you're asking about mixers used for DJing, those are another ball of wax. DJ mixers are made by companies such as Behringer, Numark, Pioneer and others, and you can find pricing for some at the second link.
