The Neumann TLM 103 is powered by the 48 VDC transformerless circuit, which gives it a low level self-noise (with just a 7db-A or 17.5 dB CCIR rating), but also capable of providing a significantly dynamic range of up to131 dB based on DIN.IEC 651 rating. This means that the TLM 103 is powerful enough to handle sound pressures ranging to 138 dB without any signs of distortion. On the other hand, the low-noise mark suggests being a perfect fit for Foley effects and great recordings. In addition, with the presence of TLM technology, balanced-audio signal is maintained, since RFI of radio frequency interference is prevented.
The Neumann TLM 103 has also mounted elastic internal structures designed to handle and reduce the effects of some external shocks. This is very vital, since the TLM 103 has no bass roll off switch. The product package also comes with the SG 103. This is a swivel clip, which is made of plastic. Well, with a couple or few adjustment on the microphone stand, it will look worn out.
