How can I mount a Bipod on my Ruger 10/22?
I have a Ruger 10/22 ( http://imgur.com/hmGJD.jpg ) the black synthetic with the stainless steel barrel, I want to mount a bipod on the stock (not the barrel), i bought the bipod that attaches to the swing swivel stud...however i got home and noticed that my rifle doesn't have the stud...as you can see from the picture there there is a clamp of sorts that just holds the barrel to the stock...does that mean i can't mount the bipod? should i buy a quad rail? or will that even fit?
You can buy a sling swivel stud that mounts to the barrel band you mentioned check midwayusa.com. Check the Blackhawk sling swivel stud set on the sight. Less than $15 bucks, swivel studs and swivels. It comes with 3 studs (one for the rear and 2 for the front, this gives you the option of mounting it to he barrel band or in to the stock, or use both in the front and have a bi pod and a sling).
Edit: you do not need to pay someone to do this for you if you have a drill, some bits, and a flat screwdriver.
