TV stands and Trolleys A New Way to store your TV
When you hear the word ‘TV stand' what do you think of? Units where you can store your TV? Have you ever considered having a TV trolley?
Ultra minimal and maximally stylish, these stands are designed to store only your TV. They are designed to be strong and stand up under the weight of your TV but little else. There's no shelves or other areas to store your other multimedia belongings, but if you're into the ‘ultra minimalist look then these stands are ideal for you.
What to look for
It's important to be sure of the stand that you're using, mostly because it's got no storage space for anything you own other than the TV. But because of this, it does mean that if you want to pair your stand with something else and then have your TV at an elevated point above the rest of your stand – which can be great news if you've got a lot to fit under your TV. Another great use for it is to put your TV somewhere that it can be moved.
Depending on your needs, it'll depend on what you use it for – so you need to match up what you want to use the stand with the functionality each offers. With that information it'll be easier to find exactly the type you want.
Composition
Most TV stands and trolleys are made of a very strong metal pole with sturdy ‘feet' and a holder at the other end for your TV set. The metal pole us usually very thick, but because of the composition and make-up of the piece, they're usually shipped in pieces for the end user to build themselves. This makes them ideal for people looking for easy to transport or light weight stands, that are needed for moving around or other things like that.
While these stands are often sturdy, care should be taken to pick the right size for your TV – too small will result in your TV being in danger, too large and you may find the opposite problem – it's not sturdy when you move it because the top is not counterbalancing the base properly. When this happens, you're in danger of moving the TV and having problems with the base. This isn't as big a problem as the TV being too big however. There's no reason to not pick a slightly bigger stand in fact.
Ultimately, if there's something out there that you like the look of and are interested in, have a look and see if you can get it in the right size for your TV. With this in mind, it's easy to decide if your TV will look good on a minimalist stand or whether you need something a bit sturdier.
