Where can I find pretty/not too expensive star projector-type lamps?
I've seen them in/used in loads of photos but I don't know where to begin looking for one.

by the way! this is an actual lamp-i've seen them before, they cost a lot less than actual projectors.
What that probably is, and I'm just guessing here, is a projector connected to a computer.

You may find something like what you're looking for at home improvement stores. I've seen something like this that people use around the holidays to project snowflakes or "Happy Holidays" onto the sides of their houses. And yes, they would cost a lot less than what I linked to before. Maybe something like this http://www.holidayprojectors.com/
You'd need to buy slides for these things, or make your own if you're intuitive enough. A computer projector would let you change things up a lot quicker, but it is a good deal of cash.
