How to Use a Clamp Multimeter

Clamp multimeter will allow you to measure the electrical voltage and also current without cutting wires or even open the electrical access panel. The clamp multimeter will easily be clamped to a power cord of the device. You can select the right functions and then get the instantaneous readout on the display of your clamp multimeter.

The readout can be either in volts or even amperes, it depends on whether the voltage or even current that will be selected. It will be the valuable tool to troubleshoot the household appliance. When the appliance will not be drawing current throughout the power cord but the voltage is present, it could be the problem with the power supply of the appliance. Here is more information for you.

For the first step, you need to make sure that the appliance or even electrical device will be turned on and it is also plugged into the electrical outlet. If you will suspect, it might not be the voltage present, you can check the circuit breaker in order to make sure that it has not been triggered.

For the second step, you can select the measurement that you need. Most of clamp multimeters have the function knobs that will be turned and others have the function buttons that will be pushed. You should select the voltage or even current. It will be the great idea for you in checking if the voltage is present before you are checking the current as if there will be no voltage present, there will also be no current, a problem is with an outlet or even the circuit breaker.

For the next step, you should choose a type of the voltage or even current that will be measured. Whether you are measuring the voltage or even current, it will be the two selections. You should choose either AC for the alternating current or even DC for the direct current. Household your outlets supply an AC voltage.
After that, clamp the ends of the pincers of the clamp multimeter over your power cord of a appliance or even electrical device.

It is important for you to read the display of the clamp multimeter and the write down your result. It will be the great idea in repeating the measurement and then compare the result in order to make sure that you will get the consistent readings. If the readings are inconsistent, you have to make sure that the pincer arms have clamped tightly on a power cord.

For the last step, unclamp your pincer arms and then turn off your clamp multimeter.

Yes it is an Ironhorse Sachem, and i will be purchasing this bike for £639.99 depending on your verdict!

sounds like an alright down hill type of bike but you don't say what make the bike is...just what its equipped with. Tell us what it is and we will get back to you on this!
Edit: Yes it is the IH sachem and it is an entry level F/S bike and having owned both a MKIII comp and a IH Azure comp, I can attest to their durability and this one is most certainly better used for AM over freeride. To use this for F/R you might want to upgrade the wheelset otherwise it is a solid platform in my opnion!
