I'm not positive it is the compressor, but that is what everyone is telling me to replace. Do I need to replace the front & rear expansion valves? If so do I need a special tool called a expansion valve tube remover? Or is there another way to get them off?
You are thinking of an orifice tube remover. No on chrysler town country there is an expansion valve on the firewall that comes off with two star screws. Its a pain in the ass because it is under all the wiper crap on the Passenger side. We usually don't replace them wen we do compressors. we do replace the receiver dryer though. that is located ether in front by the condenser or next to the air filter. looks like a tall coke can.
