VGA to DVI-D: Seamlessly Integrates Analog and Digital Technology
Analog signals can be converted to digital and viewed on the latest plasma screens, LCD displays and other such devices with the help of a VGA to DVI-D conversion unit. Working on simple plug and play functionality, one needs to connect the VGA source to the input of the converter and the DVI display device to the output port. Once the unit is powered on, the input signals are scaled to the native resolution of the display. This is how the conversion from analog to digital takes place. The resultant images are high quality as this converter improves the brightness, contrast, and color dynamics. The resolutions supported range from UXGA (1600x1200), SXGA (1280x1024), XGA (1024x768), SVGA (800x600), to VGA (640x480).
While the input resolution is automatically detected, the output resolution and refresh rate can be selected through the On Screen Display menu and front panel push buttons on the VGA to DVI-D Converter. These converters follow easy installation procedures and do not require any additional software or device drivers for operation. The input connectors are VGA 15 Pin HD female while output connectors are DVI-D Single link or VGA 15 Pin HD female. Enclosed in a metal casing for added durability, they consume 5.5 Watts of power. While the DVI Video amplifier bandwidth is 1.65 Gbps the VGA amplifier bandwidth is350 MHz. Certified by CE, FCC as well as RoHS, these devices are compatible with the DDWG DVI standard.
Available in various models such as DVI-D, DVI-I Single link, DVI-I dual link and DVI-A video converter, it is perfect for running high definition digital displays from analog sources. It allows scaling of signals and adjustment of images. The latest version enables conversion of VGA signals to DVI-D and transports them over multi mode fiber relaying them up to a distance of 1000 meters. Equipped with two outputs, it is designed so that one connects to the DVI-D monitor and the other to a computer with VGA output.
The older models of computers and laptops which are equipped with HD-15 video connections can be connected to DVI compliant devices. Allowing high definition digital displays to operate from analog sources, the VGA to DVI-D converter is ideal for home theater setups.
The another form of video converter is DVI-D to VGA which function opposite to VGA to DVI-D. With the help of this the digital signals converted in to analog signals for VGA display.

Whats the best graphics card I can get with this power supply?
I am not upgrading my power supply, and want to know what the best graphics card is for a 300 watt power supply. (that is better than an integrated HD 4200)

Can I run an hd 4650?
To be safe, I'm smelling a ATI 4850 or somewhere around a GTS 250. It might stress a little, but in my experience, most video cards don't drain power as quickly as one might expect. If you are concerned, go for the Geforce 8800.
