By not having a patient deal with additional wires that extend from the chest ECG leads to the location of the main ECG unit, typically placed on the patient's belt, there are no wires that clothing, or patient's arms can get tangled with, causing electrode displacements, or even electrode shorts in many cases.

However, A poor quality VGA extension cable can can cause problems on the screen. Noise, smearing or ghosting of the image are all common problems. Get a good quality cable. As a rule of thumb thicker is better. Good cables are more expensive, but unfortunately not all expensive cables are good. I would buy from a local store and make sure they have a reasonable return policy.
